Hallion meeting on 26th September voted a great success

The meeting at The Hallion on 26th September was extremely well attended and was encouraging for all of us in the initial Advance Party who have spent the last few months quietly building up a head of steam and looking for the mandate that we achieved on the day.

Possibly, just possibly, we might be onto something. The political landscape and the fact that there is a Scottish Parliament Election in May next year gives us one of our greatest ever opportunities as an industry to engage with our (potential) government and gain some respect.

We actually have the chance to deliver something tangible!

The next steps will be taken by the expanded Advance Party on October 24th at 10am.

The venue will be SMG’s Edinburgh Office. The agenda for the meeting should be to agree practical actions to take the concept forward and we would envisage the following items being the likely discussion points.

How will the organisation constitute itself?

Who will represent it in the short term?

Mission, if different from the initial proposal

Objectives

Membership v representative organisation? To be discussed…

And consequently…funding

A decent name
